It is time! Get your needles, hooks, and yarn ready for this fun, yearly event which is about to kick off next week. If you haven't participated before, here's the scoop:
Stitchers from around the world--obviously (GRIN) come together for this stitch along (SAL) to select from a variety of discounted patterns made available by participating designers from around the world--obviously, once again (GRIN) and get ready to cast on July 11th.
The event runs until August 22nd, the date when projects need to be finished in order to qualify for final prizes, but the chatter still continues. And during that time there is a whole lot of fun to be had between the chatting, getting to know what life and crafting is like in every corner of the world, and plenty of games with prizes along the way.
It's a great time with a good dose of laughter, tons of inspiration, and it never falls short on support and encouragement. It's a great opportunity to get some smallish summer projects done for gift-giving and even make new friends.

Around the World SAL takes place right here on Ravelry and all you need to do is join the group and start chatting, or at the very least, introduce yourself so we can get to know you.
